Minami Deutsch is the self-titled debut album by Tokyo-based group Minami Deutsch, first released in 2015 and quickly recognised as a contemporary cornerstone of modern krautrock. Deeply influenced by pioneers such as Can and Neu!, the band channels the relentless forward motion of the motorik beat into long-form, immersive compositions driven by repetition and subtle transformation. Formed by Kyotaro Miula, Minami Deutsch fuse hypnotic rhythmic cycles with sharp, echo-laden guitar lines and understated vocals, creating a sound that feels both austere and expansive.
