Description
A stunning combination of sounds – the New Orleans soul of Irma Thomas, and the Muscle Shoals genius of Fame Studios – both coming together here in a really wonderful batch of southern soul gems from the 60s! The slow-burning style of Fame works perfectly for Thomas – and the session players are at their early best, and really trying to find some new ways to hit deep soul territory – which is a bit different than some of the more trademark performances they'd turn in during later years. And Irma really rises to the challenge – knocking it out of the park on tunes that include "I've Been Loving You Too Long", "Here I Am Take Me", "Good To Me", "Security", "Somewhere Crying", "A Woman Will Do No Wrong", and "Let's Do It Over". © 1996-2025, Dusty Groove, Inc.
